Enchanted Thoroughbreds is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and retraining Thoroughbred racehorses at risk of entering auctions, kill pens, or neglect situations.
Many Thoroughbreds leave the racing industry each year without a clear long-term plan. With proper medical care, rehabilitation, and patience, these horses can recover and move forward into safe homes or lifelong sanctuary.
At Enchanted Thoroughbreds, every horse is given the time, care, and compassion they need to heal and rediscover their value beyond the track.
Because every horse deserves safety, dignity, and a second chance.
Why Thoroughbreds Are at Risk
Thousands of Thoroughbreds are bred for racing each year. While many go on to successful careers, others retire early due to injury, financial circumstances, or lack of racing opportunity.
Without proper aftercare planning, some horses are sold through auctions or broker networks where they can become vulnerable to neglect or the slaughter pipeline.
Rescue organizations like Enchanted Thoroughbreds work to intercept these horses and give them the opportunity to recover, retrain, and find safe futures.
Adoption & Sanctuary
Some horses in our program go on to carefully selected adoptive homes after rehabilitation and training.
Others remain in lifelong sanctuary when adoption is not the right path for them. In these cases, sponsors help provide the care that keeps them safe and comfortable for the rest of their lives.
Transparency & Community
Transparency and community involvement are central to how our rescue operates.
Many supporters choose to donate supplies, materials, or professional services, allowing them to see exactly how their contributions help the horses and improve the rescue facility.
Every act of support—whether sponsorship, supplies, services, or financial donations—directly impacts the horses in our care.
Sponsorship & Stewardship Program
Supporters can directly help the horses through our Sponsorship and Stewardship Program.
Sponsorships may support:
• An individual horse
• Feed and hay
• Veterinary care
• Farrier services
• Deworming and routine care
• Seasonal care needs
• Rescue projects such as barns, paddocks, fencing, and shelters
Sponsors play a vital role in providing the resources that allow rescued horses to recover and thrive.

Marvin is a 6-year-old Standardbred rescued from a kill pen—and an absolute sweetheart and total goofball. Due to deformed stifle joints affecting his hocks and fetlocks, Marvin is best suited as a companion horse. He’s looking for a loving home where his big personality can shine and his needs can be properly managed.

This boy is such a gentleman. He has the kindest heart and soul! He does not work livestock, he would rather be by your side and see you Happy. He thrives everywhere, even in an apartment setting.
He is super loyal and obedient

Dreyfuss- 3 Year Old- Collie x Shepard
This young chap is one awesome working cow dog!
Dreyfuss has an amazing work ethic, he lives to work, and absolutely loves working cows especially from horseback. He would be the perfect dog for a rancher, or at a sale barn pushing cows. He knows his basics with working livestock, but because we are a horse rescue and don't have cattle to work with him more often.
He is great with other dogs, horses, cats, chickens, and other livestock.
Super intelligent, and is on of the fastest learning dogs
House broke, can be left unsupervised for hours with no problems.
Thelma & Lewis
These kittens were born to a feral mother that we were able to safely trap after they were born. The kittens have been raised in our care, and their mom is currently in quarantine receiving veterinary care, vaccinations, and will be spayed before returning to her next step.
Adoption
- Adoption contract required.
- Enchanted Thoroughbreds Rescue & Sanctuary covers the cost of spay/neuter.
- Adopters are responsible for microchipping, completing the remaining vaccination schedule, and all future veterinary care.
Foster-to-Adopt
If you choose to foster-to-adopt, the rescue will cover the cost of vaccinations and spay/neuter while they remain in our foster program
